This is an exquisite handmade set of earrings resembles the ancient priestly breastplate (in Hebrew choshen) worn by the Cohanim in the Anciet Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. The 12 gemstones represent the 12 tribes of Israel.
Anat Dachoach (the artist) uses the original moulds and tools that her grandfather (see picture at bottom) brought over with him to Israel when he immigrated from Yemin in the 1960s. The Dachoach family has been creating fine traditional Yeminite jewelry for more than 3 generations.
